Breast Cancer
Surgery can be performed to diagnose and treat breast cancers. Diagnostic testing
includes:
- Sentinel lymph node biopsy
When cancer is detected, we use oncoplastic techniques to improve cosmetic outcome,
including skin-sparing or nipple-sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction
by our plastic surgeons for:
Gastrointestinal Cancer
Minimally invasive surgery can be performed for some intestinal cancers, including
stomach, small intestine, large intestine, pancreas or liver cancers using NanoKnife™
surgery, a precise, cellular level treatment for procedures such as:
- Hepatobiliary surgery
- Pancreatectomy
- Liver tumor ablation
Thoracic Cancer
We perform surgical removal of cancerous tumors in the:
- Lungs
- Mediastinal lymph nodes
- Esophagus
Skin Cancers
We do wide local excision of skin cancers, with plastic surgery closure, if necessary.
We also use surgical procedures to check for spread of cancers with:
- Sentinel lymph node biopsy
- Melanoma and non-melanoma removal
Sarcoma
A broad term for cancers of the bone and soft tissues, sarcoma can affect the:
- Muscles
- Nerves
- Fibrous tissues
- Connective tissues (tendons, cartilage)
- Fat tissue
- Blood vessels
- Lymph vessels
