Why Choose Us

Heart disease can be a significant disruption to your life. Symptoms such as chest pain, heart palpitations, and shortness of breath can leave you feeling worried and anxious. At AU Health, we offer a wide range of cardiology programs targeted to your specific needs so you get the most appropriate care for your heart condition. We offer:

  • Expertise in cardiovascular care: Our interventional cardiologists and electrophysiologists have earned national recognition in treating coronary artery disease and arrhythmias, respectively. We have advanced heart failure specialists and cardiothoracic surgeons who take on cases that other centers consider too challenging to treat.
  • Advanced diagnostic testing: We are the only center to offer cardiac MRI, which provides our cardiologists with the information they need to help make important decisions about your care.
  • Teamwork: Our heart specialists and vascular surgeons work together to diagnose and treat complex cardiovascular diseases. They gather weekly at board meetings to develop individualized treatment plans for every patient.
  • Specialized programs: Pregnancy, or taking medications, such as chemotherapy drugs, can sometimes affect how your heart functions. We offer programs that involve AU specialists, such as OB/GYNs, oncologists, and neurologists, who have expertise to work with patients who need specialized care.
  • Clinical trial opportunities: We strive continuously to identify new preventive approaches, medications, and devices (such as stents, heart valves and pacemakers) to treat cardiovascular disease. We’re also exploring stem cell therapy to treat heart failure.

We are recognized by the American College of Cardiology (ACC). By participating in ACC national registries and obtaining their seals of approval, we show patients that they can trust in the care they receive from us.
