& rescue skills, and life & business skills. Safe Sitter® courses are instructor-led
and interactive, with hands-on demonstrations and skills practice using soft-bodied

Babies are safest when placed to sleep on their backs in an uncluttered crib or bassinet.
Items such as blankets, pillows, bumpers, stuffed animals or care items can be a significant
risk to infants. NEVER place an infant to sleep on an adult bed, couch, pillow or
other soft surface.
Sleep sacks are a safer alternative to blankets.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics infants should only be placed to sleep
on their backs, NEVER on their side or stomach. This includes naps as well as night
time sleeping.
Tummy time is important for development but should always be directly supervised by
a responsible adult.
