Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates in Augusta, Georgia, is the right place for your infertility testing needs in order to improve your chances of getting pregnant.

Diagnostic Tests and Procedures

Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) of a woman's fallopian tubes. Depending on medical history, laparoscopic surgery rather than a hysterosalpingogram may be recommended for tubal evaluation.
Semen analysis checks for a man's sperm count, sperm motility (how well the sperm move) and sperm morphology (whether the sperm are normally formed). It also checks for the presence of bacteria or infection. The semen analysis should be done first before any additional fertility evaluation on the woman.
Thyroid stimulating hormone (THS) test measures the levels of TSH, a hormone that is made and released by the pituitary gland.
Prolactin test measures prolactin produced by the pituitary gland, prolactin release is prompted by delivery of the placenta. Prolactin is the main hormone involved in the formation and production of milk.
