Pregnancy can be hard on a women's body, especially their heart. The increased workload of carrying a baby can cause high blood pressure, weakening of the heart, or worsening of underlying heart problems (including valve abnormalities). If this happens, AU Health's cardio-obstetrics team is here to support you through your pregnancy, delivery, and recovery.
