Dr. Zheng graduated and received her MD from Hebei Medical University, China. She worked as an ophthalmologist at the First Teaching Hospital at Shanxi Medical University, China, followed with a Master of Science Degree in ocular immunology. She then went to Essen, Germany to pursue her Dr. Med/PhD degree and followed with a postdoctoral fellowship in ocular viral immunology in University of Tennessee, and assistant research scientist at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG). She joined anatomic/clinical pathology residency at MCG in 2009 and finished training in 2013. From 2013-2015, she completed a hematopathology fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After completing the fellowship, she joined a pathology group at University Hospital, practiced anatomic and clinical pathology. She has been on faculty at Augusta University since May of 2023 and practices as a hematopathologist.
Using a combination of morphology, immunophenotype, and molecular genetic features to characterize lymphoid and myeloid disorders to improve the diagnosis and classification of these diseases
