About Melania Velasquez, PA-C
Melania Velasquez is a Physician Assistant who joined our Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery team here at Augusta University in December 2016. She works in collaboration with Dr. Barbara Henley and Dr. Jennifer Lanzer to manage pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She completed her Associate’s Degree at Nassau Community College in Long Island, NY in 2003 followed by Bachelor’s Degree at Augusta University on 2009. She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies at Medical College of Georgia in 2013. Melania’s previous clinical experience is in emergency department and JMS burn centers; which make her a knowledgeable and well-rounded Advanced Practice Provider. Melania is originally from Panama and she brings diversity to our team. She is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish. In her spare time, Melania enjoys trying new foods, traveling and spending time with her husband Eric and son Lucas Alexis.
