Dr. Ramoutar received a National Scholarship from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to pursue tertiary education based on his performance in Cambridge Advanced Level Examinations in 2002. He subsequently achieved a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Trinidad and Tobago. After completing service to his country for 5 years, he pursued specialist medical training in the U.S. He went on to successfully complete a residency in Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Infectious Disease, and a fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Florida, College of Medicine in Jacksonville from July 2012 to June 2019. During each fellowship he also trained for two months at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, in Transplant Infectious Diseases and Transplant Nephrology. His prior work experience was based in Cookeville and Crossville Tennessee from 2019 to 2021 with affiliations to Cookeville Regional Medical Center & Cumberland Medical Center doing full-time Nephrology & part-time Infectious Disease consultation as part of a private practice.
