Diagnosing Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Prolapse and pelvic pain are sensitive issues for many women. You might be experiencing the symptoms of prolapse if you have:
- Feelings of pressure or heaviness
- Bulging, or feeling a lump in the vagina
- Difficulty starting to urinate, or weak or spraying streams
- Chronic straining during bowel movements
- Pain during intercourse or in the pelvis
- Low back pain
Don’t brush these symptoms under the rug. Prolapse is not simply due to aging, it can be from vaginal childbirth, straining during bowel movements, or carrying excess weight. If you suspect that you have pelvic organ prolapse, our board-certified and fellowship-trained urogynecologists can greatly improve your quality of life and sexual health.
