Jennifer T. Allen, MD, FACOG, NCMP

Dr. Allen grew up in Columbia, SC, where she attended the University of South Carolina Honors College and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then continued her studies at the Medical University of South Carolina and received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2010. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia and joined the General Ob-Gyn faculty division at Augusta University in 2014. She is board certified and has a special interest in menopause and midlife health, as well as gynecologic surgery. Dr. Allen is one of only a few NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioners in the CSRA. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and International Menopause Society and serves on the IMS Education Committee. Dr. Allen has served as the Residency Program Director since 2020 and participates on many committees at the departmental, institutional, and state levels. She has a passion for leadership and teaching and has completed a Teaching Scholars fellowship through the Educational Innovation Institute at AU, as well as the APGO Scholars and Leaders program. She has won numerous local and national teaching awards (APGO, ACOG, MCG Exemplary Teaching awards 2016-present). She gives back to the community of Augusta, GA by serving as the President and CFO of Stager Strong, Inc., a nonprofit that began following the death of one of her colleagues. This organization raises money at their annual 5K/Fun Run and supports charities such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, AlexStrong, and Mission 22. Dr. Allen attends Abilene Baptist Church and resides in Evans, GA with her husband, an Emergency Medicine physician, and her three children.

    Dr. Allen has a special interest in preinvasive cervical disease
    and HPV infection.
    She presented her work on the Role of IGFII
    in Cervical Cancer in Atlanta in 2013.

LOVE that we have a menopause specialist here. This is an area that is generally lacking and questions I have asked by usual GYN regarding menopause and HRT have gone unanswered simply because this is not something she specializes in. So, it's VERY valuable to have someone like Dr. Allen in Augusta.

The GYN only comes out a couple times a month. Most people don't want to deal with that. I don't have any big issues so I'm ok with doctor changes and I don't need to see her regularly. If I did, I might change to someone closer full time
